⚠️ You cannot win this by applying on the portal
- This scholarship is awarded on merit in the All India Entrance Examination (AIEE) for admission to post-graduate study at an Agricultural University. Selection happens there, not here.
- The National Scholarship Portal window below is where a student who has ALREADY been selected claims the money. If you have not sat and cleared the AIEE, applying on NSP will not get you this award.
- There are 600 fellowships a year, and they are limited slots — clearing the exam is the competition.
What you get

- Paid for the entire duration of the degree programme, subject to maintaining the minimum qualifying OGPA or percentage.
- The fellowship runs for two years and the guideline states it will in no case be extended beyond two years.
Who is eligible
- You must have passed — or be appearing at the final examination of — a Bachelor's degree in the relevant field, under a 10+6, 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 pattern.
- For admission, the eligibility requirement laid down by the respective Agricultural University, including tenure, is final.
- Minimum age is 19 years as on the date of the examination. ⚠️ No relaxation whatsoever is allowed on the minimum age.
- For M.V.Sc., you must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. including the internship before the date of registration at the University.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and PH categories applies as per Government of India rules. Verifying those certificates is the Agricultural University's responsibility, not the portal's.

- Where a university awards grades rather than marks, the equivalence of OGPA to percentage is certified by the Registrar of the concerned University.
⚠️ Three different ICAR awards run on this portal
- This one, the PGS scholarship, is for MASTER'S students — 600 a year.
- ICAR JRF(PGS)/SRF(PGS) is a separate, much larger award for Ph.D students — 300 a year, at ₹37,000 to ₹42,000 per month.
- ICAR National Talent Scholarship (NTS) is different again, and is for undergraduate and post-graduate study rather than being tied to the AIEE fellowship pool.
- They share one guideline document and similar names. Applying under the wrong one is a rejected application, not a redirected one.
How to apply
- Apply online on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in/ — it is the only route. Applications sent directly to the Council or the institute are not accepted.
- One Time Registration (OTR) comes first. You register once at https://scholarships.gov.in/otrapplication/ with Aadhaar-based e-KYC and get an OTR number, then use it for this and every other NSP scholarship, this year and in later years.
- There is no application fee.

- Your deadline is the first of four. The three after it belong to your institute and to the verifying officers, and the schedule is published by NSP.
- ⚠️ An application your institute never verifies is not an application. Submit early and then confirm with your institute that they have verified it.
