Who can apply

A B.E./B.Tech in the relevant branch from a recognised university for Graduate Apprenticeship, or a Diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognised State Board for Technician Apprenticeship, or a Diploma in Commercial Practice for the Commercial Practice Apprenticeship.
Only candidates who passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible. Anyone who passed before 2021 is not eligible.
Only those who completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates may apply.
Only Indian nationals may apply.
You are NOT eligible if you have already done, or are currently doing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act 1961, or if you have a year or more of experience anywhere, or if you were terminated from or resigned from apprenticeship training.
No age limit is prescribed. The year-of-passing window above is what decides eligibility.
There is no application fee mentioned in the notification.

Graduate Apprenticeship (B.E./B.Tech) — 220 in all (UR 94, OBC 59, SC 31, ST 14, EWS 22).
Graduate branch-wise	Electronics and Communication 83, Mechanical 50, Computer Science 40, Chemical 15, Industrial Engineering and Management 10, Aeronautical 10, Aerospace 10, Automobile 2.
Technician Apprenticeship (Diploma)	120 in all (UR 53, OBC 30, SC 17, ST 8, EWS 12).
Technician branch-wise	Electronics 38, Computer Science 30, Mechanical 30, Electrical 10, Civil 5, Instrumentation Technology 5, Automobile 2.
Commercial Practice Apprenticeship	70 in all (UR 31, OBC 18, SC 10, ST 4, EWS 7).

Stipend, and what an apprenticeship is not

Graduate Apprentices receive 12,300 rupees a month. Technician and Commercial Practice Apprentices receive 10,900 rupees a month.
Training runs for 12 months from the date the apprenticeship contract is executed.
Apprentices have NO claim to employment at URSC, or at any other ISRO or Department of Space centre, after the training ends. Read this before you apply.
Selected candidates must submit a medical certificate stating fitness at the time of joining.
Your Aadhaar must be seeded with your bank account and enabled for DBT payment, since the stipend is paid that way.

How you are selected

There is no examination and no interview. Shortlisting is on the percentage of marks in your own discipline.
Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification, and a panel is then drawn from the academic scores.
Selection is made strictly in panel order against the vacant positions. Selected candidates are informed by email only.
Candidates called for document verification are not paid any travelling allowance.
Aggregate marks must be entered as CGPA or percentage exactly as they appear on the consolidated marks list. Any discrepancy found at any stage is treated as a disqualification.

How to apply — two portals, in this order

First enrol on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in, uploading your degree or diploma certificate and a government photo ID. You will be given an Enrolment / Apprenticeship Registration Number.
Then register on UMANG, search for URSC Apprenticeship, and apply for the position.
The NATS Enrolment / Apprenticeship Registration Number must be entered in the UMANG application form. Without it the application is incomplete.
The portal is open from 29 July 2026 at 12:00 noon to 28 August 2026 at 11:59 pm.
Keep marks certificates for all semesters in a single file under 1 MB, and the degree/diploma certificate under 1 MB. Photograph and signature must each be under 50 KB.
One application per email ID. SC/ST/OBC candidates upload a current caste certificate under 50 KB; PwBD candidates upload a disability certificate.
