Who can apply
- A degree from a recognised university with at least 60% marks, or CGPA 6.32 on a 10-point scale.
- The degree must have been completed within the normal duration of the course as prescribed by the university. A degree finished late does not qualify.
- Proficiency in the use of computers is required for every post.
- For Junior Personal Assistant and Stenographer there is a second route: a Diploma in Commercial or Secretarial Practice with 60% marks, plus one year of experience as a Steno-Typist or Stenographer, plus a minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English stenography.
- For Diploma in Commercial Practice (DCP) or Commercial and Computer Practice (DCCP) holders, a BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate counts as the one year of steno experience.
- Age limit is 28 years as on 16 August 2026 — 31 years for OBC and 33 years for SC/ST candidates.
- In dates of birth: UR/EWS born on or after 17.08.1998, OBC on or after 17.08.1995, SC/ST on or after 17.08.1993.

Fee — you pay 500 rupees, but the fee is only 100
- The application fee is 100 rupees. However every candidate initially pays 500 rupees per application as a processing fee.
- Assistant/UDC is 500. Junior Personal Assistant/Stenographer is 500. Applying for both groups costs 1,000.
- The processing fee is refunded ONLY to candidates who actually appear for the written test or CBT. Miss the exam and nothing comes back.
- Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates who appear get the full 500 back. Everyone else gets 400 back, keeping the 100 rupee fee.
- Payment is online only, through the Bharatkosh gateway — internet banking, UPI or a domestic debit card. Enter your bank details correctly or the refund will fail.
- The last date to pay is the same as the last date to apply: 16 August 2026.

- You may apply for a post in one zone only. You can combine Post 1 in one zone with Post 3 in another, but you cannot apply for Post 1 in two different zones.
