- Notification 234 — SCT Police Constable (Driver) 20 and (Mechanics) 7, men only, pay ₹24,280–72,850.
- Notification 279 — SCT Assistant Sub Inspector, Fingerprint Bureau, 23 posts, pay ₹33,750–99,310.
- All posts are Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) entries across four departments: Police, Special Protection Force, Fire & Disaster Response, and Prisons & Correctional Services.
- The notifications state the vacancy numbers are tentative and can change without notice.
- Constable and AR posts are further split district-wise and commissionerate-wise between Local Reservation and Direct Recruitment — that table is in the notification, and it decides which district you compete in.
⚠️ One application covers all four notifications
- There is ONE application form for this entire recruitment. It collects information for every post across all four notifications (189, 225, 234 and 279, all dated 29 July 2026).
- You must NOT register more than one application form. Doing so is prohibited by the notification.
- The Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test is conducted ONCE. The same readings and scores count for every post you applied to across notifications issued within three months.
- Because of that saving, applying for more than one post earns a rebate — ₹50 per additional post beyond the first among the five post groups, and ₹100 per additional post beyond one notification for other candidates.
- Give your preference between post codes clearly in the Part-II application. Preference is what decides which post you are considered against.
Who can apply
- Constable level (post codes 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 28): Intermediate or an equivalent examination recognised by the State Government, passed as on 29 July 2026.
- Sub Inspector level (post codes 11 to 19): a degree from any university in India established under a Central or State Act, or an institution recognised by the UGC, as on 29 July 2026.
- Fire Fighter (post code 26) additionally needs a valid Light Motor Vehicle driving licence as on the notification date.
- A qualification higher than the one prescribed is treated on par — it is neither a bar nor an advantage.
- Gender: post codes 21, 22, 25 and 26 are open to men and women; 23 and 27 to men only; 28 to women only.
- Age at constable level: 18 and under 22 as on 1 July 2026 — plus a FIVE-YEAR raise in the upper limit for all uniformed services under Telangana GO Ms No. 87 of 18 May 2026, which applies on top of that limit.
- Age at Sub Inspector level: 21 and under 25 as on 1 July 2026, plus the same five years.
- Home Guards on duty for at least 360 days in the last two years and still serving: 18 to under 40, plus the same five years.
- Women who are widowed, divorced or judicially separated and not remarried: SC and ST 18 to under 40, all others 18 to under 35, plus the same five years. Documentary proof is required.
- Telangana state government employees get relaxation equal to their length of regular service, capped at five years.
⚠️ The form does not check your age — you do
- Because the relaxations differ so widely, TSLPRB does NOT validate age in the online application at all. The notification puts the responsibility squarely on the candidate.
- An under-age or over-age candidate's application is rejected at any point in the process, and TSLPRB states it is not responsible for that.
- The fee, once paid, is never refunded — including in that case.
- Work out your own eligibility date before paying: the base limit is on 1 July 2026, the qualification cut-off is 29 July 2026, and the five-year uniformed-services relaxation sits on top of the base limit.
Selection — three stages and negative marking
- Stage 1, Preliminary Written Test: one paper, three hours, 200 questions for 200 marks, answered on an OMR sheet with a blue or black ballpoint pen.
- ⚠️ Negative marking is 20% of the marks for that question on a wrong answer. Leaving a question blank scores zero — so a blind guess costs you a fifth of a mark and a blank costs nothing.
- Qualifying marks in the prelims: 30% for OC including EWS, 25% for BC, 20% for SC, ST, ex-servicemen and Home Guards.
- Stage 2, PMT/PET, in this order — run first, then measurements, then long jump and shot put.
- Run: men 1,600 m within 7 minutes 15 seconds (ex-servicemen 9 minutes 30 seconds); women 800 m within 5 minutes 20 seconds. It is qualifying-only for post codes 21, 26, 27 and 28, but CARRIES MARKS for 22, 23 and 25 — and for 22 and 25 those marks are normalised across gender groups before the final merit list.
- Height: men not less than 167.6 cm, women not less than 152.5 cm. For Scheduled Tribes and aboriginal tribes of the Agency Areas of Adilabad, Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mulugu, Mahabubabad and Warangal: men 160 cm, women 150 cm.
- Long jump: men 4 m (ex-servicemen 3.5 m), women 2.5 m. Shot put: men 6 m with a 7.26 kg shot, women 4 m with a 4 kg shot. Both are qualifying only.
- Stage 3, Final Written Examination: three hours — 200 marks for post codes 21, 26, 27 and 28; 100 marks for 22, 23 and 25. Qualifying marks: 40% OC including EWS, 35% BC, 30% SC, ST and ex-servicemen.
- Papers are set in English-Telugu and English-Urdu. Where a translation is ambiguous or misspelt, the English version is final.
- Appearing at every stage is compulsory. Absence at any one of them disqualifies you.
- Certificate verification comes last, and eligibility is checked against originals only after you have qualified.
Medical standards
- Distant vision 6/6 in each eye; near vision 0/5 Snellen in each eye.
- Each eye must have a full field of vision.
- Colour blindness, squint, or any morbid condition of either eye or its lids is a disqualification.
- You must be in sound health and free from any bodily defect or infirmity that would make you unfit for the post.
Certificates to have ready before the window opens
- SC candidates: the latest SC community certificate WITH the SC Group I / Group II / Group III sub-classification, issued by a competent authority of the Government of Telangana.
- BC candidates: a latest non-creamy-layer certificate from a Telangana competent authority, issued on or after 1 April 2026.
- EWS candidates: an EWS certificate from a Telangana competent authority, issued on or after 1 April 2026.
- Local candidature: bonafide certificates for Classes 1 to 7, or a residence certificate.
- Special categories such as Home Guard, or children of police personnel, need their own certificates.
- Getting these dated after 1 April 2026 is the part that takes weeks — start now, because the application window will be short once announced.
How to apply, and when
- ⚠️ The exact application dates have NOT been announced. TSLPRB says they will be intimated through a separate press release. Watch www.tgprb.in — no jobs website knows them yet.
- Registration is on www.tgprb.in using your MOBILE NUMBER as your user ID. Use a number that will stay with you and in your own custody for the whole recruitment.
- Fee is concessional for SC and ST candidates who are local to Telangana; the actual amount is shown inside the online application rather than printed in the notification.
- ⚠️ Paying the fee is not applying. If you fill the form and pay but never press submit, the application is rejected without notice — and the fee is not refunded.
- Upload a passport-size photo and specimen signature combined as one JPG file.
- A hall ticket does not mean your candidature is cleared. Admission at every stage is provisional, and TSLPRB can reject a candidature at any stage without notice.
- Part-II of the application — with scanned certificates — is uploaded only after you qualify in the Preliminary Written Test, on dates announced later.
